Donnie Molls was born in Redwood City, CA and lives and works in the Hollywood Hills. He uses photography and painting to alter viewer’s perception of iconic symbols of consumer culture in California. Molls has had solo exhibitions at Edward Cella Art + Architecture, Los Angeles, CA; Carl Berg Gallery, Los Angeles, CA; Peter Blake Gallery, Laguna Beach, CA; and Kidder-Smith Gallery, Boston, MA. Group exhibitions include Irvine Fine Arts Center, Irvine, CA; Lancaster Museum of Art, Lancaster, CA; Laguna Art Museum, Laguna Beach, CA; Rebecca Ibel Gallery, Columbus, OH; and Riverside Art Museum, Riverside, CA. He participated in residencies at Kraus Australis, Rotterdam, The Netherlands (2003/2007), and 7 Degrees, Laguna Beach, CA (2002). His work was featured in New American Paintings, West Coast Edition No. 67 (2006).
